Although there were no solos to transcribe, this was one of the most frustrating full album transcriptions I've done. Although Sam's feel and use of jazz language is among the greatest of all time, there are some instances of strange note choices, intonation issues and flat out losing the form, that make this record slightly less than stellar from the bass perspective. I still learn much from these masters and it's nice to know that even the greats make mistakes once in a while. For any bassist wanting to walk along side Blakey, Miles and Cannonball for inspiration, this transcription will surely allow that.
