I really enjoyed working on this album. The mix is great and the bass is super easy to hear. You can tell these three legends have been playing together for years as they know how to provide support while never crowding each other. Carter takes some very cool solos that any bass student would do well to memorize. Playing along with Tony Williams is certainly a treasure as well. Some highlights include a trading solo on “It Don’t Mean a Thing” and super cool phrases on “Minor Mishap” I’m 99% sure the beat got turned around on St. Thomas during the bass solo as I had to add a 2/4 bar to make it work. Truly incredible music throughout, highly recommended record. I Hope you enjoy!
